A Letter To The Customer

Dear Customer:

Thank you for visiting Jaambu.in. Please allow me to tell you a short story.

Back in early 2019, one evening, my wife and I were watching TV when she suddenly picked up the phone to call the local grocery store and order a packet of banana chips. Fifteen minutes later, she had cut open the packet and was happily munching on the chips.

I reached out for a chip and as soon as I put it in my mouth, I realized it was rancid. I asked my wife, “Why are you eating rancid chips?” My wife replied, “When I need a banana chip, I need a banana chip.” I was flabbergasted. How strong of a desire does it have to be to tolerate even rancidity! Then another thought struck. How many more people are there in Pune who desire banana chips as much as my wife? And it wasn’t even Kerala banana chips. What if I could make Kerala banana chips available in stores in Pune? How many people would buy it?

Seven years later, we have the answer. A lot.

In 2019, we were already 2 years into the packaged foods business, selling dry fruits under the brand name Frubee, in Pune. That head-start allowed us to launch Jaambu in July 2019 and today (9 April 2026), Jaambu is available via 400+ stores (and growing) in Pune and Navi Mumbai with more than 3 tonnes of Kerala snack products being sold per month via premium grocery stores such as Dorabjee’s and Food Junction in Pune and Daily Needs in Seawoods, Navi Mumbai.

All of our growth has been offline so far and now with the launch of this website, you can discover what thousands of customers have been loving and enjoying in Pune and Mumbai.
